Uncomfortably Numb

Uncategorized

A lingering soberness fuelled by a depressed mind, too depleted of energy to pour another glass of wine.

Once again brought to the forefront of my affliction, how much I still hate you for ruining me to feed your addiction.

I’ve since refused to become collateral to anyone else, all the meanwhile still riddled with horrible reminders of living in your abusive hell.

If we were to cross paths again, in yet another cruel twist of fate, there are a few ways I’ve romanticised over all this time of how to retaliate.

I’d love to beat you from atop the pedestal you thought you’d deserved to stand all these years, reduce you to the piece of shit that I used to fear.

Tear apart your mental health and hold you down until you resign, then cut open your face so your scars match those you left on mine.

But why waste more time than time already spent and served, and worst of all gift you the attention of which you definitely don’t deserve.

Hopefully this vendetta is one that I’ll eventually cease to pursue,
But I’m still angry for falling apart but at least I fell away from you.

    Wow.
Truly brilliant writing. It ripped right into my soul from yours.
I guess I always thought you overcame your relationship with Nic easier than what you obviously did.
Something you may not realise is how hard it was on the other band members to accept Nics break up with them. The heartache was tangible but we must remember, your web was set much deeper as you invested not just your love but your soul.
Power to you Kaysha. You survived!
Heartache makes scars but scars are the keel of our existence.
Have to tell you from the second I met you I realised how amazingly brilliant you are.
Your soul simply shines. I saw it. You have these amazing gifts yet can channel their release into a functioning magnificent human. Sadly for Nic, his demons have been too far too strong to capitalise on his universe instated gifts.
I do miss you. Your beautiful smiling face alone offers me so much joy. Your vulnerability, your poetry, your trust in the universe. You are one exceptional woman.
    Thank you.
Your friendship is Devine. Your soul is a joy to be inspired by.

Thanks for the kind and amazing words Jeff ♡ You continue to inspire me to heal!

Rest assured I’ve had nothing but good relationships since then, that I seem to take for granted due to how deep the scars are buried that he left.

He hurt a lot of people and I certainly hope he has great trouble living with that, though realistically his conscience is probably clear as day as we all have struggled to pick up the pieces.

      Oh well.

Take care my dear friend x

    Where we met.
Now converted to a quant back lane.
Do you find it extraordinary we met at The Zoo in Winn lane!

Meander down a side street off Ann Street, Fortitude Valley and you will discover Winn Lane.

Hidden behind historic Shannon’s building which houses the iconic Zoo live music venue, this small laneway is a hive of activity for Brisbane’s creative types and those seeking something different.

Likened to ‘falling into a rabbit hole’ and slipping into a ‘wonderland’ of shops and people, Winn Lane is home to a vibrant, creative community of local and independent artisans, fashion designers, hair stylists, and foodies serving indulgent café treats and classic burgers. Whether it is vintage, cult or contemporary, there are many treasures to be found here.

Our vision for Winn Lane was to create an affordable space for independent, first time retailers, who were passionate about their product or design. Fittingly located in the Valley, which has long been regarded as an area of commercial innovation and a hub for creative energy and people, the Laneway adds to the eclectic mix of the precinct.

This unique community space has attracted events like Laneway theatre, yard sales and product launches. Watch this space as Winn Lane continues to evolve and grow as one of Brisbane’s most vibrant Laneway.

I think it’s fabulous we met at ‘Winn Lane’!

    Jeff
